Materialはここでは質感という意味で使っています。四季と質感をテーマにした四連作です。それぞれの季節の空気感を日本画の素材を使って表現したいと思いました。雲肌麻紙（くもはだまし）に、箔や岩絵の具を使って描いています。全体的に絵の具を薄塗りにして、和紙本来のぬくもりのある質感や岩絵の具の素材感を大切にしています。春では蝶をテーマに、金箔、銀箔、銅箔、古代箔など様々な箔を使って、春の喜びや浮遊感を表現しています。夏は青い空と水（海）の透明感を、秋では枯葉と冷たい空気感を表しています。そして冬では、シャーベットのような雪または氷、朝窓に付く水滴と温かい室内の様子を銀箔の金属的な質感と胡粉（貝殻を潰して絵の具にしたもの）のあたたかい色合いとを対比させ表現できればと思い制作しました。
I wanted to write by four piece serial cultivation and to express the air feeling of and the season by using the material of a Japanese picture though the material was feeling of quality. It draws with Cmohadaasashi (beguilement). Paints are made thin paint overall, and the floatage feeling of spring is expressed by using gold foil, a silver foil, a copper foil, and an ancient foil with the butterfly as the theme behind in spring.
